We visited Maxine at her new Melbourne home to explore her creative process, hear about her exciting new projects, find out where she gets her inspiration and what she’ll be wearing on her big day!

You’ve built such a successful career in colour and fashion - how did this all begin?
Thanks for the hype! It all began when I started exploring my love of colour through my outfits, layering textures and tones to create different and fun colour palettes daily. This really resonated with my following and it grew from there.

You’re a qualified Interior Designer - do you have plans to follow this one day?
I hope I get to return to this field one day… I love interiors. Layering colour and texture is such a passion. It would be so amazing to bring spaces to life as well!

We hear you’re getting married soon… Can you share any deets?
Hehe yes I am! Hint - I’m wearing white! So many people think I will be rocking up in a puffy pink dress which is actually hilarious!

You have a colour e-book which is amazing in helping people think about colour differently. Do you have plans to take this further?
I would love to continue this as a series, and one day hopefully have enough momentum to turn it into a coffee table book. I am an avid collector of art and design books so to have one of my own would be pretty cool.

You selected an oversize Jade Bed in a stunning magenta, baby blue and burghandy pattern - what's the inspo for this?
The shape is super minimal, allowing the fabric to be the focus. The choice of fabric reminded me of a Chanel tweed jacket so it was instant love!

How do you practise self care?
I have been really trying to eat more nutrient dense foods to fuel my body and mind! I have also been trying to include things that allow me to unwind and relax, such as painting, cooking and listening to music.

Do you have any night-time rituals or have a process to help you achieve a sense of zenn?
Skincare! My skincare routine is definitely my wind down. I love cleansing away the day and getting ready for a good night's sleep.

Where to now, what are you working on… can you share?
Finish the wedding and honeymoon planning… I really underestimated how much work goes into planning a wedding.

Highly controversial question… What's your fave colour?!
I am super drawn to pinks lately!
